This set of pictures of China is a work which originality lies, among other things, in the evocation of the mass, the crowd, through popular atmospheres. The detail testifies of human presence, however man is physically absent from the scene. The photographies have a very pictural side. They are fragments of reality seen from a new angle. With the acuity and singularity of his eye, Yves Gellie has given these shots an artistic dimension.
